A Very Carmilla Christmas Update with Gratuitous Gratitude

Hello Carmillians,
The reclusive but inclusive D.E. Schrader here. I wanted to relieve Clay of update duty for a change. I appreciate all he does for Bloodline Comics and thank him sincerely for ten years of a great publishing partnership. But do you know who I want to thank even more? That's right, you, gentle reader. We are eternally grateful for your support of Nightmare Theater and Carmilla Unbound. Thank you from the bottom of Carmilla's cold but not quite dead heart.
This is technically an update, so we wanted to let you know that artist Erik Tamayo is making great progress and is close to finishing all of the artwork for the book. He's in the home stretch! I mean, just take a sneak peek at poor Elonezer facing the menacing Ghost of Christmas Future. In our re-Vamped telling of Dickens' classic gothic tale, we ask the question, "Can you crush the soul of a man who doesn't have one?"
Colorist Alex Zief is right behind and adding life (and death) in vivid living (and dead) color. We just wanted to give you a heads up that we may be slightly behind our original schedule but are pushing forward. Thank you so much for your patience. We want to deliver a beautiful, high-quality book in keeping with the rest of our catalogue, and are confident you'll enjoy our wild, salacious, seriously skewed sleigh ride of a story.
I hope everyone is hanging in there, remembering to breathe, and being kind to one another. Never forget to continue creating and consuming art-- real art. It's needed more than ever these days.
Gracias,
DS

Happy New Year, Carmillians!
I see a couple of you have requested an update, so in the "No-News is Good News" Department...
Work on the book continues apace. Erik is plugging away at pages and Alex is right behind with the colors.
As of now, we anticipate hitting our projected April ship date.
Meanwhile, I have a new collection coming to Kickstarter for my sword & sorcery meets gothic horror series, BLAZING BLADE OF FRANKENSTEIN.
And it's behind this cover from Conan the Barbarian artist Geof Isherwood (now with colors by White Ash's Fin Cramb):
This will include the first four issues plus a brand new short story with art by Mick Beyers and Fin.
If you'd like to be among the first to know when we go live...

Season's Greetings, Carmillians -
As we said last time out, we're all bloody grateful for each and every one of you who supported our little bit of nonsense. We think you're going to love it, and we can't wait to get it into your hands.
If you got a message from Kickstarter asking you to update your payment information, pretty please do it fast!
We still have about 20 pledges that need to be updated. You only have until Thursday (Christmas!) to correct it, and we want you to get your rewards.
Otherwise, sit back, relax, and have a very Carmilla Christmas!
See you in 2026,
-Clay & David

Christmas Crackers!
This afternoon, you made this the second highest-funded campaign from Bloodline Comics, right behind NIGHTMARE THEATER Volume 2 and just barely beating out this spring's CARMILLA UNBOUND: 1984.
And because we passed $24k, we'll be adding the Sketch Aesthetics pinup to the inside back covers (SFW for SFW covers, NSFW for NSFW covers--and BOTH to the digital deluxe).
More news on the book later, but for now we’ll just say…
From the bottom of our cold, dead hearts, THANK YOU!
What happens now (IMPORTANT):
Kickstarter has already charged the card you have on file.
If you got a message from Kickstarter asking you to update your payment information, pretty please do it fast! You only have one week to correct it, and we want you to get your rewards.
Other than that, your work here is done.
We expect to more-or-less adhere to the timeline posted on the campaign, but if anything changes, we'll let you know.
We promise to keep you updated every step of the way... without terrorizing you with too many posts.
Deal? Deal.
Meanwhile...
If you're in the mood for more winter horror, please check out...
A town in Northern Canada is overrun by flesh eating creatures and the local police officer and his pregnant wife try to survive!
Written by horror master Christopher Sebela and Altruist Comics Publisher Randy Stone with art by Henry Ponciano, letters by Lucas Gattoni, and a haunting cover by Marina Krivenko.
The book looks top notch, and personally, I'm heading over to back it now. If you want to join me...

While our NSFW covers will receive this one (uncensored):
And our digital deluxe will contain both images as well as the full cover gallery.
More news when we hit that milestone!
